Class Objective: Write a compare/contrast essay on topics of your choice with classmates.  Exchange your essay with another classmates.  Proofread for one another. Draw stories comparing/contrasting two people and or places. Practice using vocabulary from Unit 3.

Compare/Contrast Class, Ha Long Bay

  By Nate Feldman Warm-up activity: We will watch a video about Camp Doomsday, a summer camp for humans and monsters.  Think of how you can compare/contrast this place to a typical summer camp.  Try and use vocabulary from P.19 to describe the similarities/differences. Example: Unlike Camp Doomsday, the typical summer camp doesn't allow monsters!   Homework Review: With your partners, go over the answers on P.17-18.  Do exercise C on P.20.   Grammar for Writing, P.35: Go over grammar on P.35.  Students should read P.36-37 together and underline the correct answers.
